Akhal-Teke Sales List

Jalil
2007 metallic chestnut colt, Gindarkh 13 x Kristull Sienna, Akhal-Teke x Caspian crossbred

Jalil is simply a stunning blend of both of his breeds. We could not be more impressed with this cross- the quality, type, size, movement, and conformation are simply superb. He is a beautiful rich chestnut, with a gorgeous head and topline atop a perfect pony frame, with lots of chrome to get noticed. Jalil is incredibly athletic and is usually at a dead gallop across the pasture, jumping whatever lies in his way. He is brave and independent and has a laid-back, willing temperament, with a very intelligent and sweet character. We have scheduled gelding for him twice now, but cancelled it, we just think he would be an absolutely outstanding sportpony stallion for a serious competition breeding program.

Dag Nazar
2008 metallic buckskin filly, Maruk x Gozakhal, Ak Sakal line

This stunning young lady had an abrupt start to life when she was delivered by an emergency C-section, but she came out full of life and has never looked back. Her sire is the #1-ranked purebred stallion in the US, son of a Breed Champion, bred in Russia and imported, with outstanding type and a fantastic temperament. He has few foals here in the US to date. Her dam was imported from Uzbekistan and has lines that go straight into Turkmenistan, with simply unbelieveable gaits and an intelligent, regal character. This filly has inherited the best of these qualities and will be a super competition prospect as well as future breeding material. She has a balanced, correct build, excellent type, and a gorgeous, feminine head with huge doe eyes. She is personable and friendly and a quick learner.

She is priced at $12,000USD with one foal back, $15,000 without. SOLD!

Kuma
2002 smoky black gelding, Kopeli x Amarylis, Karlovach line

Kuma was bred by Silk Road Akhal-Tekes in MO and came to us by way of a breeder's swap. We acquired him believing we had enough free time to actually ride for pleasure, but shortly after he arrived, our Teke broodmare herd doubled in number and we have come to the difficult decision to offer him for sale, as we just do not have the time to devote to his training and career with our increased workload. He needs his own full-time person and a job to do.

Kuma is a lovely tall, refined, elegant boy, he stands 15.2 1/2 but looks far taller with his long legs and neck and his high head carriage. He is very lean and narrow as well, exhibiting the classic radiator build. He has an easygoing, laid-back attitude and relishes the limited training time he gets, he has an outstanding work ethic and is a willing and enthusiastic learner. He is not spooky or stubborn, and there is no buck in him.

Kuma has a free and easy trot, but an absolutely perfect canter- relaxed, rhythmic and uphill, he could go on forever it seems. He is very forward yet not hyper, and we feel he is best suited for endurance or eventing, although he is versatile enough to be a well-rounded individual. His sire Kopeli is a half-brother to the Level 7 showjumping stallion Kogan, exhibited on the A-circuit by Susie Hutchinson, and his dam is sired by Mamuk, who has several offspring who are successful in the showjumping arena. He is going quietly though green under saddle, loads willingly and stands quietly for the farrier.

Kuma is priced well below his true value at $7500 so that we can find him his own special home where he can represent his breed proudly.

Magaryf
2008 metallic bronze buckskin colt, Maruk x Fergan, Ak Sakal line

We are very happy with the success of this breeding, this colt fulfilled all the wishes we had for it. The result of two "massive"-style Tekes, this boy looks like he will also fit into that very rare and rapidly-disappearing category. Tons of bone, great body depth, and perfect legs, with a super friendly and curious personality. He also has his sire's lovely broad, masculine head.

His sire Maruk is the #1-ranked Teke stallion in the US, with very few offspring available. Maruk's sire Munir was Russian Breed Champion with scores of 10 for type. Magaryf's dam Fergan has produced only fillies prior to his birth, so he is the only male offspring from her impressive pedigree as well. He is being offered for sale only to a home which will use him in a breeding program- his bloodline is rare and he shows every inclination to be an outstanding individual whose genes should be utilized. Our thought at this young age is that he is likely to be an exceptional endurance prospect- both parents have smooth, easy gaits and are sound, tough, hardy individuals. Please contact us for price and more details.
