Akhal-Teke Sales List

Purebreds

We will be shifting focus over the next few years here at CAE to focus on riding and competing our Akhal-Tekes, as we feel that performance is where the future of the breed lies. Therefore, we will only be breeding 1 or possibly 2 sale foals a year along with what we will breed to keep in our own herd. This will leave us with several open mares every year, which enables us to once again offer either custom breeding contracts or the purebred broodmare lease option, please contact us for more details on who is available and what the terms entail. Our last large crop of sale foals will be due in 2011, please check back for more updates as they become available.

Gibraltar

2009 light metallic buckskin colt, Gindarkh 13 x Darpa, Gundogar line

Gibralter is a long-legged and athletic boy, he is likely to top out as one of the largest purebreds we have ever produced at easily over 16 hands, he is already over 15.2 as a three-year old. Linebred through both sire and dam on Absent, he is ideally suited for dressage, half-siblings on both sides have competed successfully in dressage, showjumping, eventing and endurance. Very flashy and charismatic, metallic with plenty of chrome, he is a definite future sport performer. Easy to handle, sensible and smart. He wears a saddle and bridle comfortably and will begin under saddle training in summer 2012.

Partbreds

Kermanshah Sierra

2008 bay filly, Gindarkh 13 (Akhal-Teke) x Kristull Sienna (Caspian)

Sierra is the first known cross of these two ancient breeds, and she has fulfilled every expectation we had for this pairing. A true small horse, she is elegant, feminine and lovely, combining her dam's beauty and grace with her sire's athletic ability and charisma. She has more than enough type and class to be a top show pony, as she will size out at under 14.2hh, she would excel in dressage or the hunter ring. Ready to start training, very reluctantly offered for sale as she is too small for me to start myself.

Kermanshah Tilki

2007 chestnut filly, Alamo's Shahin's Austre (Caspian) x Charisma (Akhal-Teke/TB)

This darling small horse is ideal for larger children or small adults, she is bred for the FEI disciplines and should be able to jump the moon with her parents' genes, dam is a sibling to mulitiple upper-level long-format event competitors. She is not fancy, but will be an excellent riding horse, at a perfect 14.2, and is backed, though still quite green. She is very friendly and easy to handle, affectionate and loves attention. Very fairly priced as we have many younger horses to start under saddle and she is wasted standing in the pasture. Well-built, sound and healthy, very easy keeper.

$2,500

Kermanshah Jalil

2008 chestnut gelding, Gindarkh 13 (Akhal-Teke) x Kristull Jessica (Caspian)

Our other Teke-Caspian cross, this very nice young horse promises to be an outstanding show prospect. He is a stunning mover and athlete and highly intelligent, making his training very rewarding. A perfect event or pony jumper propect, at 13.3 he is medium pony-sized with all-horse potential. Very flashy metallic chestnut with lots of chrome.

Jalil is currently lunging wearing tack and has been backed, ready for much more intensive training. Sound, healthy and a very easy keeper. Price will increase as his training progresses.
